Paul Dube is a seasoned business professional with 35+ years of experience in the finance, IT and medical device industries. He loves entrepreneurship and wanted to bring a digital transformation to Maine. So in 2022, he founded DealPoint Corporation, a Maine-based application development company. Their mission is the development of automated and cost-effective solutions for small businesses, with the goal of growing sales and increasing customer retention.
In order to make all that happen, Paul Dube connected with Maine SBDC at the University of Southern Maine Business Advisor Anne Lancaster. He was seeking advice on building a business in Maine and looking for help with funding options.
Anne provided support by talking strategies and helping Paul to better understand the resources available in Maine to help grow small businesses. DealPoint seemed like a great fit for funding from the Maine Technology Institute (MTI). MTI offers grants, loans, equity investments, and services to businesses, organizations, and individuals to support Maine’s innovation economy. Working together Anne was able to advise on the step-by-step grant application process, reviewing and suggesting edits for each document to ensure a strong proposal. Their hard work paid off when he was awarded funding! This funding will help them continue to develop their app, which aims to connect small businesses with customers on a real-time information-sharing platform. The system develops special offers and geographically targeted marketing campaigns via the DEALPOINT.app, allowing businesses to stay connected to their target customers.
Paul commented, “Anne was instrumental in providing me with the knowledge and confidence to meet my MTI grant funding goal.”
Paul is feeling very optimistic about the future! This process is continual as DealPoint is developing and growing. With this funding, they can now work towards more opportunities to apply for additional grants. To learn more about this new company visit their website!
