Business Advisor Josh Nadeau stopped in to introduce himself as a new Maine SBDC business advisor in Aroostook County to clients Amanda Crane and her business partner Lacey Clark who operate County Kidz Child Care, a day care located in Houlton Maine. His timing couldn’t have been better. Crane and Clark were interested in replacing a temporary fence that ensured children could play outside safely. To do this, they needed financing to build a new, sturdy and reliable fence. They worked with Nadeau to do a cash flow analysis and wrote a business plan to apply for a loan.
In November 2015, Crane and Clark obtained a microloan from Northern Maine Development Commission to build the fence. Crane and Clark’s husbands were enlisted to complete the job to improve their business. Both the owners and the children are happy with the new, safer fence.
